This can be sexual abuse, child pornography, child prostitution, solicitation via Internet or sexually connoted mobbing by peers. <\/p>\n<p>In most cases, the abuser is familiar to the child or even a trusted person.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europewatchdog.info\/en\/council-of-europe\/\" title=\"Council of Europe\">Council of Europe<\/a><\/em><\/strong> is fighting violence against children in all its forms. The ONE in FIVE <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europewatchdog.info\/en\/instruments\/campaigns\/\" title=\"Campaigns\">campaign<\/a><\/em><\/strong> had two main goals:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to achieve further signature, ratification and implementation of the Council of Europe&#8217;s <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europewatchdog.info\/en\/treaties_and_monitoring\/child-abuse\/\">Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (Lanzarote Convention; CETS No. 201)<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<li>to equip children, their families, their caregivers and societies at large with the knowledge and tools to prevent and report sexual violence against children, thereby raising awareness of its extent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Council of Europe campaign <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europewatchdog.info\/en\/instruments\/campaigns\/start-to-talk\/\">Start to Talk<\/a><\/em><\/strong> aims at stopping child sexual abuse in sport and, therefore, persues similar objectives to &#8220;ONE in FIVE&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Official TV-Spot of the Council of Europe:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"videoWrapper\"><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/14Rd7pJpNZc\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 80%; text-align: left;\"><br \/>\n_<br \/>\nTV-Spot \u00a9 CoE<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ONE in FIVE &#8211; Stop sexual violence against children Available data suggests that about 1 in 5 children in Europe is a victim of some form of sexual violence.
