They also ban certain things like; torture; discrimination; slavery and forced labour or punishment without law.<\/div><div class='content-column one_third last_column'><div style=\"padding-left:15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europewatchdog.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/3-Human-Rights.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class='clear_column'><\/div><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Democracy<\/h3>\n<p><div class='content-column two_third'>A democracy is &#8211; among other things, based on free and fair elections, a pluralistic media environment and a parliament, which holds the actual power and is made up by different political parties.<\/div><div class='content-column one_third last_column'><div style=\"padding-left:15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europewatchdog.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/1-Democracy.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" Law<\/h3>\n<p><div class='content-column two_third'>A state, governed by the rule of law, is &#8211; among other things &#8211; based on a constitution, its judicial authorities hold fair trials and
