The Permanent Representation of Switzerland to the Council of Europe
The two units are on separate floors and have different responsibilities:
- The Permanent Representation of Switzerland to the Council of Europe is a political body, headed by an ambassador, and acts as a link between the Swiss government and the Council of Europe
- The Consulate General is headed by a consul general. It takes care of the Swiss citizens in France, handles visa applications, organises (inter-)cultural events and maintains regular contact with the authorities of its host country as well as with its population.
