Baby-Badge

Shortly after the implementation of the Council of Europe’s new security concept I was riding in my car with my nephew. At the entrance to the garage, all passengers in a car have to show their badges.

While I handed mine over to the guard, I pointed at the three month old baby and said jokingly: “My nephew doesn’t have his badge yet, but we will certainly go and see protocol right away in order to see, what can be done about it.”

The guard pondered my remark and then said gravely: “I don’t think we have special regulations for cases like this, but just for once I’m making an exception and I’m letting you through without his badge.”
